Washington D.C. Trip w Jen & Dad April 2011

Back in April I took a trip to Washington D.C. to see my sister Jen. My dad also came up the day after me. Such a great trip! There is a lot of history in that city. Makes me grateful to those who shaped this great country! We are so blessed to live here. Though, I will admit that I had a hard time keeping up with all of the information. Lots to learn! But above all else, I just enjoyed spending time with my dad and sister. I'm so grateful to Jen for setting it up!

There were a lot of interesting sculptures.

This one was my favorite, it's a tree made of metal

Springtime!

Helping Jen move into her new condo! I wish that I had gotten more pictures. This really doesn't do it justice. I'm taking the picture while standing in the dining room. In front of us is the front room. The spiral staircase on the left takes you up to a loft. On the right (not in the picture) is the kitchen. If you were to turn left there is a bathroom, laundry room and Jen's bedroom. I meant to take more pictures after we moved the rest of the furniture in but I spaced it.

Can you figure out who we are? I'll give you a hint, 2 of us are wearing glasses. Bottom left corner of the screen. Left to right: Dad, Jen & me.

It's a croqueted coral reef in the museum of natural history. Lol, so random.

Riding the subway after we got drenched by the rain.
We went to a benefit concert to help women who have been abused. These are 2 of the artists: Merry Ellen Kirk & Morgan Bracy. They were both awesome! I even bought some of their CDs.
Morgan Bracy. She was my favorite artist of the night.
This is a really old fort . . . . I wish I could remember it's name, lol.

Totally different than Phoenix!

Bus Tour!

Jefferson Monument, this one was my favorite (Jen's too).

The view from the Jefferson Memorial.

These are some of the quotes in the Jefferson Memorial. I really enjoyed reading them. They're very inspiring. Hopefully they're not too small for you to read.

Lincoln Memorial

Dad got a little emotional at this one. I'm sure it's totally different for a person who was actually there and knows some of the people listed on that wall. I am glad that I was around to hear the stories he was telling.

And then my camera died :(
